Wedding rings

As well as creating my own designs for wedding rings, I also invite couples to spend a day in the studio making their own. For those that like the idea of being hands on with planning the elements of their special day it’s a great experience to create yours, or your partners wedding bands.

Sterling silver is a lovely metal to work with, ideal if you and your partner would like to create textured and personalised bands.

Often gold is a popular choice for wedding rings, particularly if there is an engagement ring to go alongside, or you prefer the longevity of a harder metal. With a gold making workshop, we make sterling silver ‘mock rings’ to start- get your feel for the processes and build some confidence in the tools, we then move onto the real thing.

The wedding ring workshop is a full day in the studio, usually 5 to 6 hours. Learning to shape, size and cut your metal. File the ends to fit and have a go at soldering together.

Time is spent filing and sanding the edges, to get a good smooth finish before I give them a machine polish for you.
