Don’t you just love searching for ‘treasures’ on the beach: pebbles, driftwood or the beautiful patterns in a leaf on a countryside walk: finding something that is beautiful and valuable in its own right. Similarly, as every piece of jewellery is valuable, whether it be silver, gold, glass or gemstones, beautiful in its uniqueness or individuality.

Discovering the beauty of things in the natural world, whilst maintaining an element of personal design in the jewellery you wear: attempting to keep it relevant, authentic and wearable for everyday.

I’m Louise and I create jewellery for women who appreciate authentic pieces that demonstrate techniques sympathetic to traditional practices, yet with a contemporary style aesthetic. I believe that jewellery should reflect a colourful and creative style in the wearer.

My love of jewellery started with an appreciation of art and creating. Having spent many holidays as a child with my Grandparents on the South coast, living on the River Thames and now Dorset.

My work is very much influenced by the colours and patterns of the sky and sea/water, and the forest with it’s flowers and fauna: Predominately working in silver and gold, featuring kiln fused enamels, gemstones and patterned paper under glass.

The paper and glass pieces in particular were inspired by my Nan’s glass paperweights that I adored as a child, heavy glass domes with beautiful flowers imbedded inside. These inspired me to recreate an image under glass, almost hidden and inviting the viewer to take a closer look.

My creative journey took me to London and a degree in jewellery design & making at Central St Martins. The inspiration from the natural world and a desire for a simplistic style collide together in the designing process: developing a soft yet contemporary edge.

My work is crafted by hand in small amounts in my Dorset studio, where my commitment to traditional working techniques is reflected in the jewellery & silversmithing classes that I teach: imparting knowledge that I have developed along the way, whilst constantly learning from my students.
